Sockeye sightings in the Situk

While sitting in the Yakutat Lodge this morning, I got some info that Sockeye are arriving on the high tides , and then vacating as the tides are receding .There are a couple of fishermen statying in the cabins, at the lower end. I overheard them saying they were getting their limit of Sockeye in the mornings, for the last 3 days. So the report is not to bad, but they are still more than two weeks late. I don't know if the ocean conditions are affecting the fish this year, or if the outside temperature changes are having an effect, but I know the fish are coming later and later every year since I have been here. Got another big ling cod the other night, on the new boat. Here is a good pic of it. Motor is running rich. Putting new plugs, and alittle adjustments, should do the trick.   I will let you know if the Sockeye situation changes and gets better. Also I know some Kings were caught in the area of Doggie Island yesterday. All the fish hit while coming twards the area of of Canoe pass, and they were using herring, a 2 oz. ball of lead, and they were at 37 pulls. Five fish in two hours, not to bad. Flymstr;

Still working on computer

Ok I am able to sign into my site now from home. So I will be able to post again. I don't know how long this will work.   Not much tonight. This is a big Dolly Varden, and a pic of my 2 Blue Heelers, and my Photographer (Brian),and his son (Roby) . There are still a bunch of Steelies in the river, and there are a few fresh ones still hitting the river. I have also heard of a few Sockeye spotted in the lower end. Also Dolly Varden are everywhere. There are also Kings in the bay, and soon there will be some entering the river. Weather has been good, water is lowering on a daily basis.So if you are coming to YakutatLodge, then the chances for getting fish, look real good.   Flymstr;

Computers Done

                            Ok my computers is dead. This is the last entry for a long time, unless I can rebuild from here. If you are E-mailing me, us situkguide@gmail.com. My hotmail is not working.I don't know if the knowledge I have on computers is going to help or not. If anyone has an extra brand new HP 17" screen lap top, I would love to have it Ha Ha Ha. Anyway all joking aside, I will do what I can, no guarantees as of right now. Talk to all as soon as possible. If anyone knows how to fix my problem let me know. My profile in the sign on screen says it is corrupt and cannot load. Then windows live went out, and I cannot reinstall for some reason. And now I can't sign in to anything from windows live, also I tried to reinstall Explorer 7, and it won't do it for me. So the computer it self seems to be fine, but I can't sign into anything, including my own site. I am at the office in the Lodge now, but I can't use this all the time. It seems as though windows live and explorer are constantly generating script errors, or not loading web pages, just saying error on page in the status bar. If you can help, send suggestions to my gmail account stated at the top. If not, then keep looking, and I hope to get something up here soon. Hey Joe, (My Brother)could you write some of your memories of when we were young and went fishing. Be nice though.                              I will be here at the Yakutat Lodge for the next 4 months, so if you want to talk to me, use either the E-mail, or call the lodge. See ya all soon. Donny I can't get Indy's video, send to Gmail. Also if you know anywhere to get a new Hp where you are, let me know and maybe we can work something out and you could bring one with you next month.
