No log jam, but found a few fish!

Today was the day I was going to hike into the canyon and try to find out what is stopping the fish from coming on up river. Well Damon (A fisherman I met at the creek a few years back) and I were both tired and not looking forward to the trek, but we were going to do it anyway. We went down to the hatchery this morning and let them know that we were going in to find the jam. Instead we came across a little pod of fish, that kept us busy for at least an hour or more. By the time that was done, we both realized we were not going to make in to the canyon today. We are setting up another time on Sunday to try again. The biggest problem when two fisherman head down river, is that if we see fish we STOP! and spend time to fish. If it takes to long we don't care, because we are fishing. So hopefully on Sunday the fish will elude our vision long enough that we can make some head way. Anyway, we did get into fish today. Between the two of us we hooked up with about 6 fish, but only one made it all the way to the bank, Damon did have his hand on another one, but it slipped his grip and away it went. I am thinking maybe there is not a jam down river, and the cold water is just holding them up. I don't know for sure, but that is my gut feeling.
