A look back.

Well it’s time for the return back up north to Yakutat Lodge. I wanted to say thanks to all of those fisherman I met this last winter on the creek, and to those I have fished with Professor at Workfor many winter now. Meeting new fisherman, and learning, or teaching new techniques and methods for catching these Steelhead, is really what it’s all about. I will be the first to admit, that when I get to the creek in the mornings, I always hope to have it to myself, but after the first hour, then you all can come on down and fish, HAHA. Anyway, I just wanted to say, that this year was allot of fun. I met some some great guys this year, and was able to help a few fisherman along the way (I hope).

Taylor I wanted to say to, if you are still reading this, “Keep up the great fishing, and I hope to see you killing them next winter, Keep in touch, and let me know if your getting fish,” “send pics”.

My buddy Don, whom I never saw on the creek this year, but did hit the Sandy one day with him and his pops.

Last but not least, Steve and Matt. Thanks again for fishing with me this year, and putting up with my cockiness. I know I tease allot when we are on the creek, but I couldn’t be as good a fisherman as I am, without fisherman like you 2 making me look good. HA HA.  You guys are great fishing partners.

All kidding aside, it was an ok season, only 500 fish processed at hatchery, so pretty bleak this year, I think about 3 to 4 hundred short. If you are still going down to the creek, it is in good shape, and there are still fish available, but they are more spread out, and probably in singles. So look hard, and fish even harder. I will be updating the site within a few days. I arrive in Yakutat on the Morning of the 15th, and should have fish on the camera, by the 17th or 18th. See ya all then.

Until next season for the creek, Good luck out there, and remember to set that hook. They put barbs on hooks for a reason, use it.
