Summer Steelhead at home!

I only expected to come home and get into some older spring Chinook, and instead I have come across some nice Steelhead. Yesterday I got a tip on some summers held up off the mouth of a Columbia river stream. I headed up there, and was not disappointed. This group of Steelhead is fairly large, and they are feeding their way up the Columbia. Bobber and jig seems to be the ticket here, but I have seen some nice fish taken on bait also (Prawns, and Eggs). Matt, Damon, and I have been able to wrangle our fish with spinners, Damon and I got limits yesterday, and Matt got one today. You can see Damon with two nice fish, and the other pic is a fisherman, with his first Steelhead. I have not made it to the creek yet, but I will on Saturday morning for a few hours. I will be returning to Yakutat on either Sunday, or Monday morning. Thanks to all who wished me a happy fortyth. Everything went great. Here are some pics and a vid from the last couple days.

Good times buddy! Although I have never been steeped on the way we were by those 2 (1 of `em with his 1st fish), young and don`t get it or just young and ballsy, either way I wonder if they`ve ever been pole whipped!

Hey Aaron,

Don't catch too many of the fish that are heading to Eastern Oregon and the Grand Ronde or to Idaho's Salmon River - thoes fish are our folly for late September on!  When you get back to Yakutat I need a nice picture of a Dolly - I am putting an album together for Clancy!  Take care and good fishing!
